Transplanting Plants from Eggs to Creative Containers

Roma Tomato 2/21
The time has com and its time to transplant many of the seeds from the 1/23 batch.  I did this on February 21st.
Jamaica 2/21

Okra 2/21

I got a bit creative with the containers as I figured I was spending too much on pots.   Although the Family Dollar does sell them at a pretty good price.  Here are my homemade pots for the seedlings.   You can see these are milk and margarine containers.   For the milk containers it was a bit more work to cut them but very rewarding.  I cut off the top with a utility knife with self loading blades and pierce holes in the form of tiny crosses on the bottom for drainage..  I left the handle on them and that makes them really easy to carry from indoor to outdoor while hardening the plant.   Also tomatoes don't like weather below 50F so I bring them in when it drops at night bellow that.   I wish I had had more of these containers.   The margarine containers didn't take much work other than piercing the hole at the bottom for drainage and as a plus I use the lid as a drip try.  However I haven't liked them as much since they are more work to pick up and the plants I put in them haven't really taken a liking to them.

I still got more transplanting to go so more to come.   I'm just out of pots for now.
